About Me
ALAN BIENSTOCK, MD MPH
As a Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Alan
Bienstock MD, MPH, has been in private practice for 19 years,
first in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. For the past 8 years, he has specialized in innovative approaches for complex wound care in homebound patients. He designed and founded a house call program through which he partners with nurses, specialists, and primary care providers to optimize healing in the home and minimize hospitalizations. His success includes accelerating healing and health for chronic challenging wounds by strategizing with families, patients, care providers, and DME suppliers on a well-coordinated plan.Dr. Bienstock earned an Executive Master’s in Public Health at Columbia University. He completed an integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He received his MD from the Duke University School of Medicine after graduating from Duke with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and French. He lives in Battery Park City, New York with his wife and two daughters.Dr. Bienstock is passionate about utilizing his subject matter expertise as a consultant and advisory board member to drive the development of surgical devices, aesthetics, wound care products, and telehealth services that transform healthcare. He is an Advisory Board Member of GWR Medical, a concierge-level provider of topical oxygen therapy for chronic nonhealing wounds.
